Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical Journal is an official publication of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be) University Medical College. It is a double blind peer-reviewed, open access quarterly journal started in January 2021. The journal publishes original articles, short articles, reviews, case reports, case series, systematic reviews, meta-analyses and letter to editor.

Indexing:

Many journal articles are now indexed in Google Scholar and Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources (ROAD). The journal is now cited by Crossref and Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources (ROAD).




Our Vision, Mission and Goal


VISION: : Updating knowledge for multidisciplinary faculty from Medical Colleges through open access publications.

MISSION: Index journal in reputed indexing systems like National Library of Medicine, USA (MEDLINE, PubMed, PubMed Central).

GOAL: Improvement in quality of patient care and continued education of students and updating knowledge of faculty through capacity building.


Aim and Scope of the journal:

The journal accepts research papers from broad, as well as, sub-specialty areas of medical sciences that are deemed to be of practical value for the daily practice of medicine.

This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the DOAJ definition of open access

All articles published are editorial reviewed, double-blinded, peer-reviewed, and open access. The published articles are free for all to read, download, copy, distribute, adapt and permitted to reuse under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike: CC BY-NC-SA


Copyright terms :

Upon manuscript submission, all authors hereby transfer all copyrights in and to article titled as above in all forms and media, now or hereafter known, to the Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical Journal. This transfer will only be null and void when the BVMJ provides official notice of its decision of rejecting a submitted manuscript. The BVMJ grants Ketaki Prakashan Private Limited a license to publish the article and identify itself as the original publisher. However, the journal grants permission to reuse to all users under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike: CC BY-NC-SA. The authors reserve all proprietary right other than copy right, such as patent right.


Source of support :

The journal is completely supported by Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be) University Medical College, Pune. Since this is and academic publication, the journal does not accept any form of advertisement in online and print version.


Journal ethics policy :

Types of Misconduct

All submitted articles will be checked for plagiarism. As per UGC norms, similarities up to 10% will be accepted. In case of finding plagiarism more than 10%, the article will be returned to the author for necessary corrections. If the plagiarism is more than 50%, the article will be rejected. If other types of misconduct like falsification , fabrification etc. are detected or noticed, the article will be rejected or withdrawn.

Appeal

If authors disagree to reviewers comments or decision, the authors may appeal to the Executive editor with proper reasons

Complaint

Authors may launch a complaint for delay, mistyping, poor quality of image etc. to the Executive editor.

Conflict of interest -

For authors: Authors are expected to disclose financial, technical or any other form of association that might pose as a potential conflict of interest in connection with the submitted manuscript. The conflict of interest should be declared at the time of submission of the article by all authors. If any type of conflict of interest is noticed or detected later, the article will be rejected or retracted.

For reviewers or editors: Reviewer or editors have to disclose financial, technical or any other form of association that might pose as a potential conflict of interest in connection with the reviewing manuscript. If a potential conflict of interest is declared by the reviewer or editor with regards of an article, the article review process will be handled by another reviewer or editor.

Post- Publication Issues

Post-publication issues will be addressed as per the COPE guidelines.

  • Corrections
    1) Author correction: Any inadvertent major error(s) by the author(s) that affects the scientific integrity of the published article, the publication record, or the reputation of the authors or the journal will be corrected and published as a corrigendum.
    2) Publisher correction: Any major error(s) inadvertent by the journal publisher that affects the scientific integrity of the published article, the publication record, or the reputation of the authors or of the journal will be corrected and published as an erratum.
  • Retraction The journal follows COPE guidelines for retraction of published articles. A published article will be retracted under following circumstances:
    • a) Evidence that the findings are unreliable, due to major error, or falsification or fabrication
    • b) Previous published findings, without acknowledgement of sources or permission to republish, or justification
    • c) Material or data or images without consent for use
    • d) Any associated serious legal issue
    • e) Unethical research reported
    • f) Failure to disclose competing interests, that would have affected interpretation of the findings

  • Archiving plan:

    The journal has an archiving plan for electronic backup and preservation of access to journal content via Crossref and Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical Journal website, if the journal is no longer published.

    Data repository:

    The journal has a data repository and the data is being deposited on the Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical Journal website and Bharati Vidyapeeth (DTU) Medical College, Pune website.
